This course is designed for individuals who wish to become more familiar with basic theory and practice in self psychology. The work of Heinz Kohut will be emphasized. The course should give the participants an understanding of the development of self psychology and the basic ideas underpinning its theory. It should also give the participants some understanding of the theoretical and clinical assumptions in self psychology.
