At the conclusion of this conference, participants will be able to:
Explain the divergences in the development of the psychology of the self;
Apply this knowledge and understanding to their clinical work;
Describe the results of early trauma and of dissociative reactions;
Explain the relationship between self psychology and attachment theory;
Describe how different theoretical extensions of self psychology would interpret the clinical material.
This conference is presented by the International Council for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology and co-sponsored by the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Los Angeles, and the San Diego Self Psychology Study Group.
This is an activity offered by the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, a CMA accredited provider. Physicians attending this course may report up to 20 hours of Category 1 credits toward the California Medical Associations Certification in Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Associations Physicians Recognition Award.*
The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis is an Approved Provider of Mandatory Continuing Education for Psychologists (INS029). The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis is approved as a continuing education sponsor for social workers. This course meets the qualifications for up to 20 hours of Continuing Education Credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider No. PCE7).
*Participants may claim continuing education credits based on the number of hours they actually attended, i.e. 90 minutes of attendance = 1.5 CE hours.
Thursday/Friday Pre-Conference Program = Up To 6.5 CE Hours May Be Claimed.
Friday-Sunday Main Conference Program = Up To 13.5 CE Hours May Be Claimed.
