We have brought together an outstanding, internationally acclaimed faculty. Both panels and paper sessions will fill out an exciting day. We extend a special invitation to be with us for this unique gathering of some of the best minds in Self Psychology.

Please join us for this special event celebrating the work of Joseph D. Lichtenberg, M.D., on the occasion of his 75th birthday. A major contributor to self psychology, Dr. Lichtenberg was a principal founder of The Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis and served as its first director. His theory of five motivational systems has had a significant impact on the reconceptualization of psychoanalytic theory and technique. He is a brilliant teacher and a prolific writer. Dr. Lichtenberg's major publications include Psychoanalysis and Infant Research; The Talking Cure; Psychoanalysis and Motivation; Self and Motivational Systems: Toward a Theory of Technique and The Clinical Exchange: Techniques Derived from Self and Motivational Systems.
